From Time Out Film Guide

Hollywood remake of a French farce has private eye Glover on the trail of klutzy heiress Kelley, who's been kidnapped on vacation in Mexico. Concerned dad Wanamaker comes up with the notion of unleashing accountant Short on the case, a man so encumbered by ill fortune he's somehow bound to stumble across the girl. A misfire.
