Heavens Above! (1963)
Director: John Boulting
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Playing a clergyman who applies his Christian charity literally, having been translated by error to a posh parish from his prison chaplaincy, Sellers works valiantly to wring a laugh or two out of this cringe-making satire on the church. Based on an idea by Malcolm Muggeridge, no less, the script is peopled exclusively by stereotypes, skitters uneasily into farce, and indulges a penchant for schoolboy sniggers that makes it a not-so-distant relative of the Carry On family.Author: TM
