The Honeymooners (2003)
Director: Karl Golden
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
There are lovers entwined, both knotted and otherwise, in this likeable, fast moving rom-com/road movie/DV drama hybrid, shot in a Northern Irish fortnight and scored to Ulster's Ash. It's an 'opposites attract' buddy picture as well, when jilted groom meets tired mistress/ waitress deep in the backcountry, with both respective partners in pursuit and a clutch of locals on their heels. There's a crop of plot, the path's got turns and nicks in it, but all ends as desired. Underwritten at the key moments of emotion and revelation, it's nevertheless engagingly played and generally strong on the unspoken hinges of deepening attachment, the glances, lilts in step, the pauses and the yearn.Author: GE
