From Time Out Film Guide

Not, in fact, Quasimodo's pets, but the ice-hockey team of Notre Dame, a boys' school in the frozen Canadian outback, run by nuns and a priest, which dispenses the usual vile mixture of learning by rote, inedible food and patriotic speeches for World War II. Hero of the piece is the 'larger than life' headmaster/priest who runs the place like a Hitler Youth Camp and is duly loved by all the boys. Miss Jean Brodie on ice?
