Hugo the Hippo (1975)
Director: William Feigenbaum
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
An animation feature with terrible songs from Burl Ives and Osmonds Marie and Jimmy. But at least there's an attempt at a liberal theme in its story about the friendship between a village boy (a black kid in Africa) and the sole survivor of a hippo slaughter, and how the local kids come to Hugo's aid against the mindless cruelty of the adults.Author: VG
