Masters of the Universe (1987)
Director: Gary Goddard
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
It must have seemed like a good idea at the time - to re-animate in live action the cartoon characters from the popular tots' TV series He-Man. Most of the action takes place on Earth, where the anorexic Skeletor (Langella) pursues with evil intention the squeaky clean He-Man (Lundgren). Each craves possession of the Cosmic Key, which - like a platinum Amex card - gets you wherever you want to go. A couple of dumb-ass kids become involved with the goodies and, in addition to some feeble lovey-dovey, provide the wherewithal for the stranded aliens to return to Eternia. There are lots of flashes and bangs, but the effects are neither special nor camp enough to be more than vaguely amusing.Author: MS
