Me and Charly (1978)
Director: Morten Arnfred, Henning Kristiansen
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Teenage life '70s-style, this intimate study set in a provincial Danish town charts a young man's relationship with his girlfriend, widowed mother and his new, slightly delinquent friend Charly (Olsen) over the course of a summer. Engagingly acted, it's tentative and open ended in the realist mode, often intriguingly suggestive - not least a bed scene between the protagonist and his drunken mother - but finally understated to the point of inconsequentiality, and with a troublingly slippery ending.Author: NB
