Money Movers (1978)
Director: Bruce Beresford
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Tautly paced and unpretentiously punchy, Beresford's heist thriller is an object lesson in mainstream narrative confidence and economy, detailing the ironic convergence of underworld, undercover and under-suspicion around a security firm vault containing $20 million. The question of who polices the police runs like a black comedy subtext through the film, but is never allowed articulation until the complex business at hand is out of the way in a generically inevitable blood-bath; while the prevalent assumption of universal corruption begins to play havoc with audience sympathies.Author: PT
