Sailor Beware (1956)
Director: Gordon Parry
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Much-loved British character actress Peggy Mount got her film break when the stage farce (by Philip King and Falkland Cary) that she'd made a huge success transferred to the big screen. She dominates the proceedings as the potential mother-in-law from hell, who gives sailor Lewis a major attack of cold feet when he realises just what he's getting into with his plans to marry fiancée Eaton. This being a '50s British movie though, it turns out she's not as bad as all that, just misunderstood. Hits you right there, doesn't it?Author: TJ
