The Santa Clause 2 (2002)
Director: Michael Lembeck
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
In Part One, divorcé Scott Calvin (Allen) signed a contract that transformed him into Father Christmas. He grew a white beard, developed a paunch and found himself grudgingly in charge of an underground toy factory somewhere beneath the polar cap. But now there's trouble. Scott didn't read the small print which requires any newly crowned Santa to marry before the expiry of his eight-year tenure. Unless he manages to find a Mrs Claus by Christmas Eve, he'll be 'de-Santafied'. A cloned plastic Santa substitute is put in charge of the elfish workforce while Scott heads back to the real world to honour the contract. But his doppelgänger is a fascist planning to ruin Christmas for any child deemed even mildly naughty. This angle is probably the funniest thing here, but it's not a patch on the original.Author: DA
