Not nearly so atmospheric as Michael Reeves' The Witchfinder General, but for the first hour Piers Haggard keeps his theme and the blood flowing nicely. It begins in style, with a farmer in 17th century England digging up a skull with one eye still working, and then there is a disembodied furry arm and claw on the rampage. The only thing the cast of Olde Worlde actors can think of is human sacrifice, and there are a lot of nubile actresses to choose from. Sadly, Haggard lets things slip, and the make-up man takes over.Author: ATu
