Save the Tiger (1972)
Director: John G Avildsen
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Lemmon's nervy performance as the garment manufacturer harassed by financial problems and moral compromises is the best thing in this well-meaning but very wordy look at the failure of the American Dream. Middle-aged, disillusioned, and nearing a nervous breakdown, he bewails the passing of his youth when things were simpler, while resorting to insurance fraud to revive his ailing fortunes. Cynical, occasionally hollow stuff (scripted by Steve Shagan), but thanks to Lemmon, sometimes quite moving.Author: GA
