Scooby-Doo 2 Monsters Unleashed (2004)
Director: Raja Gosnell
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Most of the cast is back and the Mystery Inc gang are now celebrity jet-setters with clonish fans and a Scream-style reporter (Silverstone) in tow. When a masked villain invents a monster making machine to unleash spooky creatures into Coolsville, the gang must investigate while dealing with various identity crises. Scooby (still animated) and Shaggy (Lillard) fret about being useless detectives, while Velma (Cardellini, still too thin and gorgeous) thinks she's not hot enough for a museum curator (Green). Oh, and Daphne (Gellar) worries she's just a pretty face and Fred (Prinze) is insecure about his macho reputation. But just as we edge closer to a semblance of characterisation, it's time to roll out the fart jokes. Scooby and Shaggy's antics might provide the odd smile, but their cartoonish physical comedy is generally ineffective.Author: ASm
