The Sell Out (1975)
Director: Peter Collinson
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Routine espionage thriller in which the CIA and KGB play silly buggers in Israel, much to the chagrin of the local secret service. Meanwhile a more personal triangle works itself out between former colleagues Reed and Widmark, and Hunnicutt, ex-lover of the former now living with the latter. But all this confusion adds up to very little. The script relates everything, with increasing tedium, to the games that people and nations play. Everything else about the film helps make it a journeyman's outing - from the boring references to old Bogart movies to the uncomfortable acting, tourist locations, and succession of unnecessary camera angles.Author: CPe
