The Senator Was Indiscreet (1947)
Director: George S Kaufman
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Playwright George S Kaufman had a somewhat arm's length relationship with Hollywood (although he was famously well paid for his work on A Night at the Opera) and this jaunty political satire, scripted by Charles MacArthur, proved to be his only film as director. The lost diary of presidential candidate Powell, and the incriminating detail contained within it, provide the impetus for some mild, somewhat unfocused fun. Powell's Thin Man partner Myrna Loy pops up unbilled.Author: TJ
