She Lives to Ride (1994)
Director: Alice Stone
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
This debut documentary looks behind the lust'n'leather, 'Girl of a Motorcycle' clichés to portray the everyday women who decide that riding pillion is no longer enough. Constructed round a series of interviews, including one with the leader of the lesbian pack who form the vanguard of New York's Gay Pride marchers, and another with the redoubtable owner of a shocking pink Harley, still biking in her 82nd year, this entertaining and informative film reveals the camaraderie and sense of freedom these women gain from hitting the road together - without waiting for the man to decide where to stop for a pee.Author: TJ
