From Time Out Film Guide

'Nun sings soul music' summarised Sister Act. In Part 2, her Whoopiness, responding to the desperate pleas of Mother Superior Maggie Smith, is tempted from the cushioned lifestyle of the Los Angeles stage. Re-installed as the bogus Sister Mary Clarence, she takes on a musical challenge in San Francisco's toughest high school. The school is set to become a parking lot unless the wimpled wonder can transform her class of crazy teenage miscreants into a harmonious ensemble fit to win the all-state choral competition. Bouncy musical numbers and plenty of social concern, but the star, regrettably, is on autopilot.
