From Time Out Film Guide

Kayama, pushing middle-age, makes video porn for a living. His average day might include a shopping trip to a rubberware boutique, a child-minding stint at the office, and an evening shoot spent struggling with the special effects for a 'golden shower' scene. One day he gets it into his head that he needs to make a 'serious' feature film, and meets steadfast opposition from his financier, his staff and his wife. Skinless Night (the title is swiped from Japan's best-selling brand of condoms) offers a wry portrait of Kayama as a man belatedly in search of 'integrity', and an authentic and riotously funny account of the sex industry. It takes on added piquancy when you know that its obviously talented director Mochizuki is a prolific maker of porno tapes.
