It's rare to see any movie which manages to get everything so conclusively wrong as this does. From its random use of film clips (often in the wrong format, and in black-and-white from colour films) to its central uninspired interview with Belafonte, this 'Cuban view of an American entertainer' (who visited Cuba for a concert in 1980) takes a potentially interesting subject and squanders it. If you like Belafonte, you'd be better off with an album; if you don't, then rest assured that this would do nothing to kindle your enthusiasm.Author: SM

The relevance of this biography really resonates with the political consistency and his unrelentling history as an Activist and financial contributor to the causes he believes in. Dude. What did you do, skim the DVD just to get paid????
