Son of Godzilla (1967)
Director: Jun Fukuda
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A scientific experiment on a Pacific atoll goes wrong, causing flowers to grow into triffids and mangoes to swell like footballs. Praying mantises become mechanical diggers, and an unearthed egg hatches out the son of you know who. Big Daddy is snorkelling out on the reef, but soon runs back for a bit of the usual murder and mayhem (though a giant spider is the real anti-mankind villain). The energy level is high, the technology ridiculous, and the subtext bang up to date. This one's about global warming.Author: ATu
