South Dock (1997)
Director: Pablo Reyero
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
The difficulties faced by three families living in Buenos Aires' polluted shanty towns are presented in a touching, yet non-judgmental way. Made for TV - but with a subsequent cinematic release - the film is an often moving portrayal of dignity in poverty, the continued importance of machismo, and the sheer pain of merely trying to survive. Restrained in tone and form - at times too much so - this profile may not lack heart, but remains more interesting as anthropology than cinema.Author: FM
