Der Starke Ferdinand (1976)
Director: Alexander Kluge
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Kluge's marvellously deadpan parable about society and its official guardians is irresistible. Ferdinand the Strong (Schubert) is an ex-policeman turned factory security expert who carries out his duties with surrealistic fervour, finally becoming so obsessed with possible security leaks that he turns terrorist to prove his own case. Unlike some of Kluge's more cerebral works, a highly accessible film, bitingly funny in its satire of the perils of power syndromes.Author: TM
