Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Tom Herman and Kaleil Isaza Tuzman are best buddies, so once they graduate from Amherst High it's only a matter of time before they set up in business together, Tom inviting the whizzkid investment banker to become CEO of an internet outfit designed to ease communication and understanding between government and public. Soon the ambitious and apparently very able twenty-somethings are raising millions in investment, hiring extra staff, making the magazine covers and even meeting Bill Clinton. The rise of govWorks.com is a dream come true - except for a tricky third partner, corporate espionage, cash flow problems and the realisation that every relationship has its price. A surprise hit in the US, this fly on the wall doc might serve as a cautionary tale for dotcom entrepreneurs and wannabe tycoons everywhere; for many, most of the fascination will derive from the base, but probably universal impulse of Schadenfreude. Comeuppance is just what the doctor ordered. If the film is a little predictable, Kaleil is so watchable that it's easy to hang in there and relish the grisly details.Author: GA
