The Sundowners (1960)
Director: Fred Zinnemann
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Sprawling family saga set in the Australian wilderness of the '20s finds Kerr, Mitchum and his old shipmate Ustinov hoping to make a new life for themselves from the proceeds of a lengthy cross-country sheep-drive. Zinnemann's customary care for detail pays occasional dividends, but the film goes on rather too long. Sturdy performances and location work. Isobel Lennart wrote the script from a novel by Jon Cleary.Author: TJ
