From Time Out Film Guide

Forget the slim storyline which has Payne, on tour as band manager with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, signing up as a publicity stunt to adopt a war orphan. What he gets is the sickeningly cute Sonja Henie, irrepressibly throwing herself at his head until she wins him away (an unlikely story) from Lynn Bari. Tune in instead for the band playing 'Chattanooga Choo-Choo' (beautifully danced to by the Nicholas Brothers), 'In the Mood' and other evergreens, and a marvellous bit of Hermes Pan choreography performed by skater Henie on black ice.
