Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Like Hal Hartley's unreleased No Such Thing, this is an allegorical Icelandic monster movie backed by Fridrik Thór Fridriksson - only this one's for kids. Set a couple of centuries ago, it's about the superstition and fear that overtake a remote village when a furry monster is spotted roaming the nearby wastes - but then, when the 11-year-old parson's son gets to meet the mysterious creature, it turns out to be a kid from Greenland. Cue a pleasant if predictable fable about friendship, prejudice and tolerance.
