In Thee I Trust (1993)
Director: Elena Tsiplakova
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Alla, a lonely, disfigured woman, takes a priest's advice and volunteers at the local orphanage. It's a grim institution, the staff hardened by corruption and contempt for their charges, the facilities barely adequate. But Alla feels for the children and they respond to her warmth. The authority figures are perhaps too harsh, and the kids too cute, but this is a hard-hitting, moving film about the lost souls of the 'New Russia'.Author: TCh
