Intimate Games (1976)
Director: Tudor Gates
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A tediously unfunny sex comedy masquerading (for censorship reasons?) as a spuriously moral exposure movie. 'Abnormal phantasies', we learn late in the proceedings, cause Professor Gottlieb (Baker) to pounce on one of his female psychology students, after which he is carted off to hospital frothing at the mouth. Earlier, Gottlieb's students have been despatched for the summer vac to write up each other's sexual phantasies. Theory, however, inevitably gives way to softcore practice: slow-motion, dimly-lit, featherweight Lesbian groping; some singularly unerotic tumbling in the back seat of a Rolls; frequent old-fashioned naturist shots of pleasant, well-scrubbed girls in the buff; a notable absence of genitalia. Ian Hendry, Hugh Lloyd and Joyce Blair make brief, decidedly uncomfortable appearances; Anna, Ingmar Bergman's daughter, strips off with good humour.Author: JPy
