Irezumi – Spirit of Tattoo (1981)
Director: Yoichi Takabayashi
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Once more into the mystique of Japanese sex. This one is about a grizzled old master tattooist who will only work on his subjects while they are in the act of screwing. Both the tattooing and the sex are tastefully sanitised: no blood, no unsightly scabs, no erotic complications. There's lashings of picturesque old Japan, and it all turns into jolly melodrama for the finale, with suicides, murders and revelations of hidden identities.Author: RG
