Island of Mutations (1979)
Director: Sergio Martino
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Irresistibly giggly hokum that gives an uncredited airing to The Island of Dr Moreau, boasts a whole school of amphibious 'Black Lagoon'-styled creatures, and works up a reasonable head of cheap thrills in a finale uniting an erupting volcano, voodoo, the treasure of Atlantis, the mad biologist's secret, and a good old graveyard fistfight. Some rather dry verbal humour, stylish camerawork, and performances above par for the Saturday afternoon genre easily offset the variable SFX, and overall it makes welcome second feature material.Author: PT
