Rock'n'Roll High School (1979)
Director: Allan Arkush
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
For all its throwaway humour, this is basically just a pleasant reworking of the kids versus adults rock'n'roll movie format of the '50s, with Paul Bartel in the traditional role of the adult kook who goes hip, and legendary DJ Don Steele as the radio commentator who brings the confrontation to the nation. Naturally the struggle between the generations goes a little further than before, with a high school burned to the ground and adults thrown out of windows, but it's basically kleenteen fun. If you're worried about the Ramones, rest assured; they make a very adequate chunka chunka chunka sound.Author: DP
