Julian Po (1997)
Director: Alan Wade
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Slater is the stranger (one 'Julian Po') who walks into a sleepy small town, and soon admits that he is there to commit suicide. This revelation makes him the man of the moment: women throw themselves at his feet, storekeepers and bakers shower him with freebies, and a sweepstake takes bets on naming the fateful day. But, of course, Mr Po starts to enjoy his celebrity, and confrontation looms in a film which looks like a novella padded out for the big screen (it's based on La Mort de Monsieur Golouja by Branimir Scepanovic). Slater brings little to the material, apart from one of the more regrettable moustaches in recent celluloid history.Author: TJ
