Film-wise, this is a pretty straight, honest and direct video diary with voice-over of a male friend's wedding. What makes it interesting is that these Cameroon nuptials are polygamous and see the lives of the new bride and first wife utterly changed. Genuinely revealing of a community and its historic prerogatives - personal, public and generational - it's a politically committed work that, by the end, sides unequivocally with the women, trapped in an enduring tradition.Author: GE
