All Visitors Must Be Announced (1996)

Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
This profile of three New York City doormen admits us to a shadowy, purgatorial world. The doormen are gatekeepers for the rich folk of the apartment blocks they look after. They check the mail, receive parcels, allow pizza deliveries, and sometimes even help their married clients with illicit affairs. Unfortunately, the qualities which suit the doormen to their job - they're stoical, phlegmatic types - don't make them exciting subjects for a film. Despite the observational detail, the documentary is short on the adrenalin you might expect from a film set in the heart of the city.Author: GM
