Aloha Summer (1988)
Director: Tommy Lee Wallace
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
This predictable rites-of-passage picture, directed by a John Carpenter associate and set in the summer of '59 (the year Hawaii joined the US), follows Makepeace and the gang as they square up to the glorious local surf, confront racial prejudice, and overcome their timidity in the face of bikini-clad womenfolk (including future Wayne's World siren Tia Carrere). Big Wednesday it ain't.Author: TJ
