And Now My Love (1974)
Director: Claude Lelouch
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A film so sentimental and implausible that its emotional indulgence almost seems avant-garde as it presents the interplay of various cultural/historical/emotional threads that cause a millionairess and a film-maker to fall in love at first sight. It is stylistically dazzling, but the feelings and the characters are so shallow they could almost be part of some satire on the bourgeoisie. The fact that it's clearly autobiographical makes it even more remarkable. Cut by nearly 30 minutes for English and American release: the mind boggles.Author: DP
