The comic duo have both seen better days. In this fairly desperate romp con-man Pryor takes pathological liar Wilder under his wing after he's released from a sanatorium into the LA equivalent of 'care in the community'. Ruehl and Lang supply what plot there is (it involves a missing brewery magnate), but Pryor's health problems (the onset of multiple sclerosis some 5 years previously) have sapped his energy and much of his old gumption.
