Artists and Models (1955)
Director: Frank Tashlin
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Martin and Lewis play New York bohemians, sidetracked from their artistic aspirations by Lewis' obsession with comic strips, which leads into some mild satire on their dangerously violent content as well as a daft plot involving state secrets. Tashlin's splashy use of colour, and strong contributions from the female leads (including Anita Ekberg in a cameo), help to give the film its wacky, over-heated edge. There's even the suggestion that Lewis' backward manners are the result of a childhood spent reading comics - so now we know.Author: DT
