Best to date in this on-going series, even if the emphasis on 'family' and the constant references back to the other episodes evoke soap opera. Hung Hing's dominance of Causeway Bay comes under threat from the rival Tung Sing gang, whose officers Crow and Tiger have forged secret links with drug lords in Amsterdam. Murders, double-crosses and entrapments ensue, some of them on location in Holland, although Ho Nam and Chicken incidentally get to spend more time than usual with girlfriends. Structure and pacing are very strong, and Roy Cheung's psychopathic Crow is the series' scariest villain yet.Author: TR
