Young Bess (1953)
Director: George Sidney
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
MGM's contribution to the coronation of Elizabeth II was this piece of Tudor tosh about the early years of Elizabeth I. Simmons suppresses giggles, Granger makes Thomas Seymour a pompous ass, Laughton catches up on his Henry VIII, and Kerr plays well below Parr. All it lacks is a commentary by Richard Dimbleby.Author: ATu
