The Killer (1971)
Director: Chu Yuan
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Another kung-fu assembly line gore product according to the brothers Shaw. The film exists for its fight routines, and these go to heady extremes in taking our hero out of the realm of human fallibility (dozens fall at one blow) and inching him towards complete invincibility. The plot involves heroin smuggling, romantic meetings after many years under assumed names, and so on; but the scene in which 'The Killer' confronts the head of the Black Dragon gang - a remarkable picture of sword-wielding malevolence - is a rare spark in a movie that remains routine despite its exoticism.Author: VG
