Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Take a con and a yuppy: the con (Belushi) is a good-natured slob, popular with the guys, into baseball and chicks; the yuppy (Grodin) is wound a little tight, basically okay, but ambitious and a tad prissy. Now give the con a break, teach the yuppy a lesson. Put them in neutral territory - the no man's land of LA - and give Belushi Grodin's credit cards, ID and contacts. Give him his filofax. And Grodin gets zilch. There's a good comic idea somewhere here, and it's called Trading Places. Through crass over-emphasis and sloppy continuity errors, Hiller fumbles most of the jokes away. The roles fit Belushi/Grodin like rubber, but the rest is second-rate.
