The Terry Fox Story (1983)
Director: Ralph L Thomas
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Cancer survivor and amputee Terry Fox embarks on a cross-country run to raise money for cancer research. Public awareness is haphazard until a professional promoter climbs on board, and Terry becomes a national hero despite having to abandon the run. Kinder viewers will find the picture inspirational; others will see it as a worthy but dull tract, barely brought to life as a cheap TV movie. Briefly enlivened by Robert Duvall, the film relies heavily on Eric Fryer, his status as an amputee over-riding his limited acting ability.Author: DO
