Throwing Down (1995)
Director: Lawrence O'Neil
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A quirky genre piece, from a first-time director, about a couple of New York hoods - Scorsese exiles - bickering their way through a drugs scam which takes them to a West Virginia ratshack. The handheld, improvisational feel inspires loose, funny performances from Pinassi and Donovan, but the crummy soundtrack, lazy violence and inconsistent tone are major drawbacks, and it wasn't a great idea to pin the climax on a (late) mail delivery.Author: TCh
