When drag queen Mark (Williams) died of AIDS, hunky, HIV-negative boyfriend Simon (Arklie) throws his belongings into the back of the closet and goes on the prowl. You can't keep a good drag queen down, however, and it isn't long before Mark comes back to haunt his faithless lover. The film doesn't live up to its billing as 'the first British gay mainstream movie'. But it is the first to handle the subject of AIDS with a comic touch. The script is patchy, making for more laughs than were intended, but the director draws impressive performances from newcomers Williams and Arklie. PBur.Author: PBur
