Treasure of the Four Crowns (1982)
Director: Ferdinando Baldi
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A marked improvement on Comin' at Ya!, the previous miserable effort from the team of Tony Anthony, Gene Quintano and Baldi. Which isn't to say much for this nonsense about ancient prophecies and modern mettle, bloated with the cruder possibilities of 3-D, plus sound effects and scenes shamelessly stolen from other films. One sorry borrowing, where the hero is chased by a flaming ball of fire, doesn't even compare to the similarly plagiarised TV chocolate commercial, let alone their source in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Burning balls are the least of the hero's problems: when you're up to your neck in Visigoth legends, pitted against a multi-million dollar messianic sect with only a few unlikely friends for help, and a cheap rally jacket for cool-customer credibility, such physical imperfections hardly seem important.Author: FD
