The Trials of Oscar Wilde (1960)
Director: Ken Hughes
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
One of two Oscar Wilde biopics produced in 1960, Ken Hughes' widescreen offering had the advantage of a charismatic and finally moving central performance by Finch as the great ill-fated writer, delivering the epigrammatic dialogue as the judicial noose tightens. A pity that Mason is so uncharacteristically bland in the final-reel courtroom conflict.Author: TJ
