Troll (1985)
Director: John Carl Buechler
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
An amiable and humorous fantasy-cum-Faery tale in the Gremlins mould. When the Potter family - Mom, Dad, little Wendy Ann and Harry Jr - move into their new apartment house, they have more than their kooky neighbours to contend with. Wendy is the first to go, possessed by the gruesome little meanies, and then it's cue special effects sequences as, flat by flat, the trolls transform the house into a burgeoning forest of ferns and all manner of repulsive creations. The whole thing is jogged along nicely by the cast (especially the excellent Moriarty, jigging around manically to his '60s records), and has exactly the right balance between child-like wonder and gentle self-parody.Author: WH
