Adamantly sincere but utterly redundant populism from Bob Porky's Clark, a boy scout's stab at Bonfire of the Vanities starring Timothy Hutton's noble adam's apple (gulp!), which he thrusts this way and that for all the world like an ostrich with a social conscience. Hutton's a kind of contemporary James Stewart, a graffiti guerrilla taking on City Hall. And for what? To get some support for his brother, a fireman injured in the line of duty. You can't help wondering why he didn't just find a good lawyer.Author: TCh

- Posted on Aug 11 2011 10:31 I finally found the movie! I saw Timothy Hutton in Ordinary People and Leverage, and loved him, and his performance in Turk 182 was no different. I loved the story, but just the character Jimmy was enough to keep me going...he was so blunt, open, determined, raw...it was great. A great mix of brotherly love/angst/drama, danger, civil disobedience, and good old fashioned graffitti. Reading angry reviews kills me...to clarify, he couldn't hire a lawyer a. because they didn't have enough money and b. what the mayor had done by turning Jimmy away was perfectly legal, just immoral. It's kind of like Leverage. Picking up where the law leaves off... I can't believe this movie isn't more popular, just the acting alone was great. A thoroughly enjoyable movie that had me sitting in my room, laughing, tearing up, and cheering Turk on.
