Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Basically a three-hander set in a spacious NY loft, Toback's conversation piece charts the recriminations, apologies, explanations and accusations that occur when two rather different women suddenly discover not only that they've unwittingly been sharing the same lover, an actor, for the last 10 months, but that they also share contempt for his pathetic deceits and self-delusions. That's it, really, but the excellent performances, the authenticity of the dialogue, the subtle, fluid direction - it nearly all takes place in 'real time' - and the fact that it's all so unquestionably adult make it a thoroughly engrossing, intelligent and enjoyable experience. Oh, and its one sex scene is, for an American movie, quite raunchy.
